ClearPage Privacy Policy
ClearPage is a document scanner from ClearVoid Studios. It is free to try with a one-time in-app unlock for full features. There are no ads and no subscriptions. Scans stay on your device. Google Play may process the unlock purchase.
Data we process
- Scanned pages and PDFs/images you create stay on your device. We do not require an account.
- ClearPage does not upload your documents to ClearVoid Studios servers. There is no ClearPage cloud.
- On-device text recognition (OCR) may run on your phone to power search and optional auto-folders. Extracted text stays on the device.
- Optional “lock scans to this phone” (off by default) can lock newly saved PDF scans on your device with AES-256-GCM using keys kept in Android Keystore on that phone. ClearVoid Studios cannot read locked files. This is not a cloud backup: reinstalling ClearPage or clearing the app’s data can make locked scans unreadable. Turning the setting off can unlock existing locked scans (if you choose) or leave them locked. Share, email, and similar exports send a normal readable copy—they are not locked for the recipient.
- Optional app lock (PIN and/or biometrics) gates opening the app on your device. PIN hashes stay in encrypted on-device storage.
- Share opens the Android share sheet (or social apps you choose) from your device. We do not receive what you share.
- If you use Share (“Tell your friends!”), the App may check whether Facebook, Instagram, or X are installed so it can offer those buttons. That check stays on your device. When you tap a network, the App opens that app with a prefilled message (including a Google Play link when available). We do not post on your behalf and do not receive what you send or publish.
- Settings → About may open links you choose (support email, clearvoidstudios.com, Privacy, Terms, or our Facebook page) in another app or browser on your device. The App shows version and build number on your device only; that information is not sent to ClearVoid Studios automatically.
Permissions and services
- Camera / document scanner — scanning uses Google ML Kit Document Scanner via Google Play services. Capture and enhancement run on your device (or as provided by Play services). ClearPage receives the resulting files on your phone; ClearVoid Studios does not receive them.
- Biometric / fingerprint — optional, only if you enable app lock and use device biometrics.
- Google Play Billing — used only if you buy the one-time unlock; purchase handling follows Google’s policies.
